Two-tone egg
Not sure where else to post this question, as the Health Forum is locked. I found an egg on the floor of the coop right by the nesting box crate. It probably fell out as a hen was moving a couple of eggs. The egg is two-tone, light and beige, like there is a light shining on it. Does anyone know why...

How often are your chicks getting lice, scaly leg mites and bumblefoot?
This is our first year with chickens, and yes, I feel we are getting a lot thrown at us! First, we lost a BSL hen to bumblefoot, only because we had no clue what it was. Thanks to all for the great welcome.
I am not only in the Leeds and Grenville county; I am in Rideau Lakes Township, just outside of Westport.
So, Tom, we could be neighbours!

noob from Oxford county
Our original layers were Black Sex Links. They are a light-weight bird, but boy, they lay lovely large eggs! Our Red Sex Links were originally for meat, but as we were culling the nasty roosters, they started laying. So now we have the both types of birds all laying. And... Oh my gosh! Where are my ...

Glad to have found an Ontario forum
Hello Everyone! I'm new to this site and am also new to having chickens. So I'm on the chicken learning curve. Have had chickens since June 2016; those were the (non-sexed) Red Sex Links as meat chickens. In July we got our Black Sex Link pullets. At present, all of the hens are now layers and we ha...
