Starting a new chapter
I have zero experience with dementia patients, so I'm a little nervous. My elderly family members all had full faculties until the end. Most of my friends have had reasonably brain-healthy elderly friends and family too, so this is going to be very different,very new, very much a learning experience...

Jaye is right. ' Back in the day' I bought play sand for the chicken pens and construction sand for horseshoe pits...and the horseshoe pits were where the birds went because even though they were outside, they drained better and didn't freeze solid.

We did a turkey covered in bacon once, never again. Most of the bacon-y flavour leeches out of the bacon, but doesn't really go into the meat, the texture of the bacon gets kind of gross, and you don't end up with nice crispy turkey skin.
