Pick up day was yesterday April 21st at Performance. I got:
-10 female Khaki Campbell ducklings
-3 Speckled Sussex cockerels
-1 Silver Laced Wyandotte cockerel
The cockerels are to get new blood into my existing breeds. Here are the ducklings:

Call Ducks
I have 4 whites (2 male and 2 female) 2 female greys and 1 pied male. They are all laying eggs so I took 12 call eggs and put them under a broody sussex hen. Now I will let them all hatch their own eggs. Should get lots of babies.

So I built her a nest of straw under the eggs and it all worked great she is still laying in the nest. There are now 7 eggs. Now I have a new problem. There are 2 turkey hens laying in the nest. I'm thinking that once one of them starts to set I will somehow make it so the other hen cant get to the ...

In the fall I bought 4 Narragansett turkeys. 1 Tom and 3 hens. I have always wanted Narragansett's so was super excited to get them. Yeah I agree. I have not done any this year yet and I wont. Also another reason for not doing it is I can sell them as breeders too. I think the only reason to castrate them is that if you keep them intact you have to make sure you get them all butchered before any of your ewes come into heat or hav...
