New baby!
She (I'm going with she unless proven otherwise) is a little cutie. The crested lady is a gold laced polish. Her poof is usually much larger, but she keeps dipping it in the water and then dragging it through the stall dry until it cakes on the end of each feather, weighing her head down. So, she go...

One of my broody silkies managed to hide a trio of eggs from me until they were too far along to swipe from her...
So here is the first day old hatched overnight on Thursday - rooster possibilities Mille Fleur D'uccle or White Crested Black Polish and (I think) the black silkie hen.

Mille Fleur d'Uccle project
Ooh - they are lovely. I have had Mille Fleur D'Uccles for about 6 years and I have my first ever broody Mille as of Friday. Only one problem. I have a gorgeous Mille Fleur Roo, but as of a few weeks ago, I also have a BCWPolish Roo (that I thought was a pullet). So, I'm not sure what I will get (: ...

Champix worked for me... then I fell off the wagon for 6 months. So, I tried again. Champix worked again - so much so that the thought of smoking still makes me nauseous. Its been about 8 years now!

potato + tomato = tomtato
I have one of the 6 on one apple trees. It has only been in for a year, but I got 2 kinds of apples this past summer. The rest, the dog picked. He waits under apple trees praying for wind!

The search for flavour
I have about a dozen Poblano seeds left over from 2014, if anyone wants me to pop them in the mail. I'll add in a few other flavourful seeds (: I think that I have some Chile D'Arbol seed too. I cut Poblanos into strips, blanch & freeze them. Since they usually go in recipes chopped fairy finely, th...

That explains the thickness. The egg white was really thick too - jello consistency.
Everyone looks good in the coop. Ate their oatmeal like wild things and fought for the spots beside the roosters up on the roost. Who ever dropped the fart isn't admitting it!!!!

Tiny Egg
I think that a quail egg is 2x as large! Lol. Boy, that was hard to crack! We had to get a knife & smash through! When I tried to crack in on the side of the plate, I thought that I had broken the plate! I did a double take when I saw it on the ground - thought that I had lost a button off of a shirt.
