Where / when did you post your ad, Jossy J? I did a quick search and don't see it in the Classifieds.

Barn cat anyone?

Darn. I wish I had a barn. Or a property big enough to build one. He sounds like a great cat. Sorry, but I can't help you out ATM, but will keep my ears open for anyone who may be looking for an awesome barn cat.

Spoiled Feed

Having read in several places just recently that people don't leave their feed in bags, I'm curious: Is this to minimize the chance of feed going moldy? I have always put my feed, sack and all, into aluminum garbage cans. Is this not a good thing to do?

Probiotics containing Vitamin C - is it okay for chickens?

Thanks, WWW. That’s a relief - I was hoping that a small amount of Vitamin C wouldn't hurt her. It’s a bonus that it may actually help. The first two days I gave her an Epsoms salts bath soak and applied an antifungal cream to the skin around her vent after cleaning her off. I also tried to administ...

Probiotics containing Vitamin C - is it okay for chickens?

Good question. I have read somewhere (please don't ask me where I read it, because I didn't bookmark it) that chickens manufacture their their own vitamin C and do not need any supplemented. I'm not sure if giving them extra vitamin C is a bad thing or not. I do know that chickens don't like citrus,...

What breed is he?

This forum is a very good place to look for a blue egg father. There are several reputable Ameraucana breeders that are members on this forum. Whereabouts are you located? I know of one breeder in particular in SE Ontario.

What breed is he?

EE, but still a beautiful bird. His legs are the wrong colour (should be slate, not yellow), he has a big single comb (Ameraucanas should have small pea combs) ...

Probiotics containing Vitamin C - is it okay for chickens?

I've been dealing with a severe case of vent gleet in one of my hens for the past week or so. I clean her up every night, apply an anti-fungal cream to her sad and no doubt sore and itchy red butt area, and have been giving her fluconazole for the last three days by way of scramble egg bits. I would...

Tics , flys , lice etc FYI

Thanks for the tip, Ross. Pretty much no-muss-no fuss, by sounds of it. Methinks it's a good thing to have on hand. :-)

"FRIEND or FOE" ~ do you bother & why?

I've never used the friend tag either - by default, you are all friends. I have on occasion but rarely used the foe tag, for the same reasons as Ross cited.
