@WLLady I tried several times with Frank and some green/olive egg ladies. EVery time they quit at the same stage. I guess some type of lethal gene. Anyway DH summed it all up "so it's a crap shoot!"

@lolotsung A heritage RIR looks absolutely nothong like the production lines. They are stunning and the first time I saw one I gasped at the difference. If you get a local poultry show check it out to see the difference. @thegawd had these.

WLLady Thanks for the explanation! Reason I asked is I have some hatching eggs for my broody girl. A couple are blue and a couple green. The blue laying girl had been in with a silverud rooster. Here is a question for @WLLady .
If a chickens hatches from a blue or green egg and it is MALE, will he carry the blue egg gene?????

@lolotsung I've seen them used in neoprene for bumblefoot. SOme poultry vets carry them.
