Re: How are you using all that free time?

With the lockdown and restaurants closed I made a new friend. This 30 year old is an ultra marathon runner (125km) and is outrageously fit and was getting bored working out in his garage so I invited him over. Now I pay him $20 per day, he comes over twice or three times per week (2 or 3 hours a day...

grocery store 2020

So were are in: 1. recession (which is past due) and a price war for oil sales - yesterday WCS oil (Western Canadian Select - aka Alberta tar sand heavy crude) was under $12 per barrel (and they need $40 per barrel to make money) 2. coronovirus - which by itself is bad but 3. governments run by inco...

hot summer ahead

I predict a hot summer ahead (with more intense rainstorms). There's a video from the BBC on Global Dimming - simply that air pollution reflects sunlight back into space - and water vapor at high altitude from aircraft contrails do as well. From 1957 to the mid 1980's sunlight hitting the earth decr...

Re: Coronavirus - how much do you worry ?

This Joe Rogan podcast is excellent (you can hear it as a sound file somewhere and as a youtube here. Listen to the first 20 mins at least (or the whole 90 mins). Michael Osterholm is an internationally recognized expert in infectious disease epidemiology. He is Regents Professor, McKnight President...

Re: How much of your PRIVATE life do you share here?

Good day - yes, this site is a small group of regulars - like pen pals - and a large group of occasional folk - who don't jump in often. We try to make this free and open and welcoming but it seems to be the same group of regulars - and that is ok with me. We stay away from two issues that divide pe...
