Anyone in the Haldimand - Norfolk area interested in farm sitting? The fellow that usually does it was lucky to get some free plane tickets the week we booked a cottage.

The sugar & salt mix works well. Lately, I've been using orange crush for a 48 hr marinate when I think to pick some up. Been really pleased with the sugar & salt mixed w pineapple juice for the ducks.

A black bear did the same high wire trick by my brother's last fall. Fried him and the transformer. My brother was pretty peeved. He had been hunting this particular bear for two years. It was playing havoc with his place. He still went and got the head and paws when the MNR folks weren't looking.

Thanks for the comments. She drives a roll off truck for a bio waste company. She is so tiny, next to the truck she looks like a midget. LOL. She is a delight of contrasts......talk about barn blind, guess I'm kid blind. Must be empty nest syndrome . Cheers.....have a pleasant day!

Whatever you do, don't' burn poison ivy, regardless of the time of year. Fumes are highly poisonous. Man, I hate the stuff w a passion. A tip from someone who is constantly in the beeping stuff. Windex immediately applied to clothes and exposed skin is a life saver.

I find mine are quite drought resistant. So inspired by the variety shown here....will have to get serious about planting them in the places of stuff that died this summer.
