Re: A cornish pullet has gone missing, I think she went broody. How can I find her?
Now this may seem like a stupid question, but how can I find her? It's not a stupid question, but no easy answers, wait until she comes out and follow her is what I do. Some are wily and will take you on a wild goose chase and disappear in a blink. Not all will come out every day, especially in the...

Re: Who do I breed to whom?

Re: The problem with older hens.
My two oldest girls are hatchery hens, a barred rock and a red sexlink, both 12 years old, and both a little crotchety, but I figure they've earned it LOL The rsl has always been cranky with younger birds, in fact, she's a killer and unless I have a very protective mama in the coop, I can't allow he...

Re: Your opinion wanted: white eggs.
I like the look of white eggs. I just didn't particularly enjoy the chickens I got them from (they were prod. white leghorns) and slowly moved away from them until all I had left of them were some crossbred progeny. Thinking seriously of getting some more white egg-layers in the spring though, becau...

Re: Sharks! What the heck happened
I had a similar, if not quite as dramatic experience today with an overripe cantaloupe. You'd think it was manna from the gods, and all of them were starving to death. Just when I think I have them figured out *shrugs*
