I wash the cans and bottles at the end of doing the dishes, doesn’t take any more energy and sure does make the recycling box smell better until it gets picked up! We rinse cans and bottles out with cold water. Keeps odours down in the porch where we store it and I'm sure it helps at the recycling ...

If well water gets cloudy in the spring and clears up later, it is a clear indication of contamination. A bit of silt is not a big deal , but if silt can get in so can bacteria and viruses. My Grandfather was a conscript who was in England waiting to be deployed across the English Channel when The Armistice was called November 11, 1918. I cook peels and cull potatoes in a crock pot, along with some barley and soya beans. They grab the peels first and chase each other around for them.
