Re: Hawk ID help

I think it looks like a Sharp Shinned hawk. I get them here sometimes.

Re: Chicken talk. Article of the day

My Serama hens make cute kind of "talking" sounds when I pick them up. Some of my bigger hens cackle when they lay an egg, some don't. I have heard my roosters growl.

Re: Good Morning

Happy New Year everyone! Today there is sun, but it is really windy and the wind chill is -41. We have had wind chills between -40 and -51 since before Christmas. It sucks. It is supposed to warm up a lot starting Monday. A lot of the snow cover that was in my yard has blown away. I may lose perenni...

Re: I’m back! With bunnies

When I was a kid we had some New Zealand/ Flemish Giant cross rabbits that were siblings. The people we got them from said they were both males. :) They had 2 litters as soon as they were old enough - one with 7 kits and one with 9.

Re: Selling eggs

There's a couple near here that grow a large garden on their acreage every year and donate any fruit or vegetables that they don't need to the Regina Food Bank.

Re: Selling eggs

When I had extra eggs I was able to donate them to a shelter in Regina. I was actually surprised that they would take them. I called them first. They also accept home grown vegetables for their kitchen. The skating rink in the next town from me has a kitchen and for a while they were using eggs supp...

Re: New nonsense

The seller said he paid $600 for the pup, when I first got there. Later in the conversation he said that someone owed him money and gave him the pup as payment, so I think he paid nothing. He also said he couldn't afford to keep it. I noticed after I got home that he changed his ad to say the dog wa...

Re: New nonsense

Sorry for your loss Happy. I have been checking the Humane Society website daily for months. Dogs go through a lot faster than they used to. Part of that is because the adoption fee there includes spay/neuter, checkup, and some vaccination. This all costs a lot less through them than if you pay your...

Re: New nonsense

I think a lot of people get cats or dogs from shelters or people who are giving them away and then put them up for sale on the internet. Kijiji in the Regina area still has a ton of people breeding miscellaneous dogs and advertising puppies for outrageous prices. I find it hard to believe that all t...

Re: Astra Zeneca

Autopsy results are back. His heart attack was not caused by Astra Zeneca. He had 3 arteries that should have been bypassed, so they think that caused a fatal heart attack. They said there isn't always damage to the heart from a fatal heart attack. There is more damage if you survive the heart attac...
