Re: Good Morning - 2023

WLLady Phew! All that work you did sounds exhausting! Toby sounds amazing. If he likes to chase toys and is a bit of a chewer, he may like an amazing toy that holds up to Amber (heavy duty chewer) and is her favourite. What is more, it only costs $4 from Dollarama! (She actually prefers the red ones...

Be careful out there!

I was driving home from dog training last night at about 6.30pm when 3 deer ran across the road in front of me. I slammed on the brakes and narrowly missed hitting the third deer. Thank goodness Amber was secured in the back with her harness tied to a restraint.

Ha ha Ontario Chick, but I'm guessing that you walk the dogs. That counts as exercise :).

Re: Good Morning - 2023

WLLady, I'm glad you say that the Liberty needs another week to be purr-fect for eating! Mine is dropping tons, (and I'm making crumbles, and really should hydrate some) but they are still a bit tart and I was wondering if it was me, as the apple orchard has been selling apples for weeks now.......

Re: Good Morning - 2023

Same here. We have wild apple trees, as well as a Courtland and a Liberty. Have to pick up piles of apples every day because one of our dogs gorges on them. I currently have two composters full.

Re: 2023 veggie garden

Got my garlic in too (sigh of relief!) Ontario Chick, I have learned that it's wise to pick all blushing tomatoes whenever rain is in the forecast. Just let them sit somewhere to finish ripening. I keep mine in the basement. Many of the varieties that I grow are prone to split in the rain, and you n...

Re: 2023 veggie garden

WLLady, sounds like quite a garden! As for the beans, I figured out how many works for us and planted extra, but the rabbits (who never bothered the beans before) were horrendous this year, so I had to plant more in a safe place, and hide the ones that were chewed by letting the wild purslane grow u...
