You could try Skara Brae Farms. Not sure if they still have them but are listed for sale.

Re: Asparagus crowns
By far the best crowns come from Sandy Shore Farms. They are huge compared to what you find in stores and also inexpensive with only a 25 minimum, I think. A few years back I bought them by the 1000 to resell and made decent cash. http://sandyshore.ca/asparagus-crowns/ These crowns are big and healt...

Re: Eggs???
I do supplemental lighting 6500K (daylight) bulbs from 4 am- 5 pm. Most of my older hens are moulting and I have about 40 % 1st year layers but overall my egg production is down about 20 %. I feed layer pellets and treat with scratch grain & black sunflower seeds. I haven't seen any study but I wond...

Re: Can anyone identify?
Just a thought. Download the free app. "Plantsnap" to instantly get an answer to variety. They claim over 585,000 plants are identified with 90% success. My wife uses it quite often to help her identify plants.

Re: Question on Mites in the coop
Rubbing the roosts, sides of small coop and even the birds feet with vaseline will also kill/control them. Any nicotine spray meant for gardens can also be very effective.
Don't give up, it will work.

Love the Hmong. I too got some eggs from BC but unfortunately now have 6 cockerels and only 1 pullet. I'll rotate the boys when it's time to expand the gene pool. They are surprisingly tame to work with.

Re: I think my new dude is a dud
Are you trying to incubate the eggs to check fertility or just cracking them in a bowl? If so maybe your missing something. I would put 2 dozen in for a week. Crack them all open to know for sure. If any are fertile then probably another few weeks will correct that.

Nice, chinchilla cages I think. Everyone was going to get rich breeding them years ago. Can the sections be separated? As is maybe $300 each.

Re: Dropped in to say Hello, been gone for a long time!
Welcome back. Real estate prices are still very strong in our area. Sure they maybe dropped a little bit with the new qualifying rules but 5-10% atmost. Now they are talking of lowering interest rates again. I think the spring market will be strong with higher prices. If you wait until the next rece...
