Re: Can rooster eat layer crumbles?

My boy eats layer quite happily, the only time you don't want to give too much calcium is when you are rearing chicks yourself because it can cause skeletal problems while growing. My roosters have always had layer. I also have free choice oyster shell out with no problems.

Re: Good Morning!

Mr. Frank is feeling better about himself this pm. He managed to persuade his special lady, Sister, to lay an egg in the lovely nest he made for her.

Re: Good Morning!

Avian Influenza. It isn't about ATM but a few years ago there were some cases in SW Ontario. It pops up in Commercial operations in the States and here as well. Don't want to jinx it though!

Re: Hello from Hamilton

I will touch on one, less than pleasant, subject. Be prepared if one of your birds is either extremely injured or very sick. You may have to put her out of her pain. Not fun but it happens.

Re: Good Morning!

Good morning, So when I was making plans for a couple of weeks of grace before snow flies, that seems to have been a huge mistake? There is not going to be a Green Christmas? 2018 Spring was very very late and 2018 Winter is very very early? I must say that I preferred the theory of "Global warming...

Re: Good Morning!

I am paraphrasing but it sounded like " I remember this happening last year and the Staff didn't fix it for months!" The chickens are NOT happy but the turkeys are playing in it. Why do turkeys prefer to eat snow rather than drink nice clean water?
