Re: International Women's Day..
Yes, there's enough light for the lentils before the plants in the AG become bushy. We had a talk at our local Hort. Society by someone who grows Micro-greens. She recommended: Broccoli, Mustard and Radish as the easiest, (and Broccoli lasts the longest when it has to be stored in a baggie in the fr...

Re: International Women's Day..
AG sell containers for growing micro greens :). I also learned to use a ramekin to grow some lentil sprouts. Just add a little water and put it right over the place where you add water so that it's under the light. Add a few drops of water every day. When my lettuce grew bigger, I moved the ramekin ...

Re: Aerogarden
Well done! You're almost there :) Did you get your AG's yet? I read somewhere that we need to soak the Leca balls for 24 hours, so I did that and tossed the dirty water outside then rinsed them again. Not sure how necessary soaking is, but they were quite dusty/dirty. Plastic lids aren't really nece...

Re: Aerogarden
I would wait until they are at least a couple of inches tall and have a bit of a root system. Did you get some net cups and some Leca (clay balls?)

Re: Aerogarden
Yes. I bought an AG kit like that because I wanted to keep the herbs that came with the unit, but grow lettuces. The sponges are also good to use in Kratky jars. I bought a pack of 3" net cups as well, as they fit wide-mouth mason jars. Yes KB, They have this down to a fine art. They've perfected th...

Re: Aerogarden
Yes. I would remove 4 seedlings and re-plant them somewhere else as I cannot bear to kill them either. I tried leaving two lettuces in one pod, and they got out of hand, even harvesting the outer leaves every day. (BTW they say not to harvest more than one third of the leaves at a time, and I didn't...

Re: Aerogarden
Yes, I put a couple in Kratky jars, but they could also go in pots with potting mix or, if you wanted to grow more basils in the AG, you could get some extra baskets and sponges and move the extras there, although Basil does grow rather large.
