Re: a DOG dilema........

Addy is Labradorable! Funny about all the colour coordinated bedding (and toy) :). I'm sure that they will both get along well before too long. GREAT that she sleeps through the night! Looks as if you really lucked out with the little pupper :).

Re: Hornworms

Ha ha Ross. My friend would definitely be a taker :). In the mean time, I think I will have to buy a UV light so that I can find the hornworms more easily.

Re: Hornworms

I found hornworms today! At least mine weren't enormous so my plants aren't damaged. I'm so glad that my chickens took them and ran off with them :). We found them at a friend's place once, and her chickens weren't interested......

Re: Thanksgiving Turkey Project

It looks great! I'd love one for my six chickens and I'm really sad that Cackellec boasts that their 8x10 shelter can house 30-40 chickens :(.

Re: Plant/weed ID

I agree that it's a wild Evening Primrose. The cultivated version is shorter with bigger flowers.

Re: Garden Diaries, 2020

Ontario Chick, that's too funny about the tomato cage that you are afraid to open! I would be too! I'm guessing that you have big critter problems there that force you to cage those wild 'maters. Good luck with the harvest!

Re: Garden Diaries, 2020

Oh dear! It sounds as if your tomatoes have gone bananas! Dark green foliage is great though :). Have you trimmed the lower leaves up to the first truss on these guys? I hate to remove healthy leaves, but I force myself to do it whenever I can because it stops splashback and saves me having to do it...

Re: Garden Diaries, 2020

Happy, do let us know if the cuke beetle traps work. I had such great success with cucumbers for several years, and always shared half with the chickens, then the beetles found us, and totally devastated the plants. Last year, I grew them under Reemay which was such a PITA un-tucking and re-tucking,...
