Hubby says to check that all the insulators are working. The poles should be insulated from the ground. As long as it isn't being shorted it should work just as well in winter as it does in summer. Maybe there's a small ground somewhere.... If you had a meter, you could check it.

You have dirivery? We're too far out in the boonies for that, and have to go there and pick it up - assuming that "there" is somewhere that sells edible food. The Chinese restaurant we used to love is out of the question these days since I was quite ill after eating a takeout from there.

Thanks Tom. They do look very pretty and they sound like fun, but sadly 5 eggs a week from 3 hens (in the summer) wouldn't cut it around here :(.
