Re: End of an era.

@KyleS , lovely picture! And, that cow has a gorgeous bag. For those of you who can't get to Limestone Creamery, look for "Reid's Dairy" cream at your grocery store. The ingredients are: cream and milk, and nothing else. Very tasty. Ahh, Reid's dairy - now that takes me back ... went to high school...

Re: Good Morning!

Jan, can I help out? I won't be able to get out there every day, but are there non-daily things I can do?
And yeah, what @Killerbunny said ... Sounds like a fun trip for Richard, not so much for you. If there's a way he can go and take care of business, that would be ideal.

Ditto. That's just shameful on the seller's part.

Re: Wondering about a cross

Re: hatching egg disaster: Oh dear. That's just awful! Yep, definitely can't top that. Any of it. The end result of my hatched eggs via CPC was tragic for my broody and for the chicks that didn't make it. But ... the eggs were well wrapped and viable when they were shipped, so nothing wrong at the s...

Re: Wondering about a cross

Hmm. Maybe I should not keep him, and just get some from another breed and color. I tried to get some Speckled Sussex hatching eggs once - it was a disaster. Well, maybe it's for the best anyway: If it were me, I don't think I'd want to pass on those nasty temperament genes to future generations. I...

I don't think so. I've not seen any, at least not in this neck of the woods.

Re: Meal worm stogie

A bit far for me to go for mealworms.:-)
I've been buying them from Walmart for years here, and now suddenly they decide to discontinue carrying them. Arghh. Oh well, hopefully my mealworm farm will take off and I won't care.

Re: Meal worm stogie

Great photo! When did you last buy your mealworms at Walmart, Penny ? The reason I ask is because they no longer carry them at any of the Ottawa area stores, so I have had to resort to setting up my own mealworm farm. Home hardware used to carry them, although more expensive, but they don't anymore ...

Re: New little mommy

She's beautiful! And the chicks are just precious. Almost makes me wish that my Gracie to go broody again. Almost.
