I bought an "Ador" chicken door from the states 6 years ago, and it still functions daily. Like yours it has a photo sensor and opens in accordance with the level of daylight, and has a wheel and sprocket that opens and shuts the door so it can't be lifted. It runs on a 6 volt battery that I change ...

I had a cross billed chick once. It was fine at first, but stayed small so I took it to a veterinarian that I knew who treated poultry. Unfortunately my chick was too badly deformed to help, it had food impacted up into it's nasal passages and the roof of it's mouth because of the shape of it's beak...
