No, there's no bumble foot under there...
I paint the roosts with lime in the spring...
They have a dust bath of sand, ash, and a little DE...
I'll start treating him with epsom salts and vaseline.

Fluffy the Silkie rooster decided to take on a standard sized hen... She wanted none of it, and let him know quite firmly, poor thing.
I'm a proud mama; my kid can calmly handle bloody messes that I still have to find the nerve to deal with.

Inherited this rooster from an uncle; no idea of breed or age, but the little guy does do a good job. He's even tempered and gentle. Not easy to replace in a rooster, so...

This unseasonal warmth has two of my silkies very confused. (London area) IMG_6119.JPG My coop is insulated, has deep litter, and never seems to drop far below zero.
