Figured so. The second last picture, do you guys and gals think its a RIR? Or what does he look like to you? We want to keep one or two of our Roos. We were thinking a BCM and maybe the RIR if thats what he is.. But still deciding.. Such a tough call. Have to clear it with our neighbors though! :)

I ended up resolving my problem. From what I can tell they were just bored. I try to have something to occupy them constantly now in the winter months. I spread out scratch for them in the run the night before so they have some for the next day. I also hang lettuce and cabbage which keeps them occup...

Thanks for the responses. We have tried numerous things and the pecking has seemed to stop. Not sure how it happened but the main thing is that it has stopped.. I think maybe they were bored so we have given them plenty of things to entertain them. Hung some lettuce for now and Im going to get a bal...

Hey there everyone, Came home from work today to find one of my girls beaten up pretty badly. All my hens were in good shape except for my one barred rock (oreo). She was bleeding from her comb and even had some pecking done to the top of her head which had started drawing a minimal amount of blood....
