Gidday, we’re ok here (near Burnstown: between Renfrew and Arnprior). Calabogie had lots of tree damage knocking out power lines (suspect tornado). I don’t know what house damage happened.
Calabogie is 15 minutes south-west of me.

power was on and off for 24 hours: back on now.

Aye, my best to you Jim. In August I didn’t do anything physical, my asthma would have me wheezing in the heat, then allergies hit mid-august and a frost had me happy 1st week of Sept so allergies should be over but I got a cold and I still can‘t fricckin breathe! I have cream legbars (and mixes creams/buckeyes) and the hens are all easy going. I have bantam RIR’s in the same pen and the RIR’s boss the hens around.

Its a shame for me to butcher so I’ll be at the Renfrew BST on Sunday selling extras (or you flag me down now). I can deliver to Lanark.

Bill at the Sydenham feed store recommended gold'n harvest (purina) as an all purpose for chick starting, duck growing, and laying hens. The all seem to like it. Miranda and her chicks will be in their own coop initially, so I could give them chick starter (I have some from a couple of months ago)....

yep, in a world where no one traps predators (so they are abundant) birds outdoors at night its a matter of when not if.

cars: I bought a new Hyundai Sonata in 2007, drove it to 325k, gave it to my brother, it now has 430 000 and still going.
I now drive a 2010 Hyundai Elantra and it has 244k and i’ll drive it another year at least.
