Re: Man who sold me ILT-infected chickens still selling
And on a lighter note, here's my surviving plague birds enjoying some watermelon. Excuse their gross faces, they kept trying to rub the watermelon juice off into the dirt with predictable results.

Man who sold me ILT-infected chickens still selling
Hi folks! A few months back I bought birds from a man which ended up testing positive for ILT (the brahma was mildly symptomatic from day one, and when one of them deteriorated to hacking blood I brought her to Campus Estate Animal Hospital where the test was done). The birds he sold me also had fea...

Re: Healthy beak?
I reported the ad he had up, and it's no longer there today (though I'm not sure whether it was him or kijiji that took the ad down)

Re: What should be done with ILT survivors?
To Troy & everyone else, thank you so much! It's a big weight off my shoulders to have expert feedback, and I'm quite relieved that I don't have to put down my birds :)

One of my vets said that I should euthanize them all regardless, as they'll be lifelong carriers, but my other vet said that I d...

Re: Healthy beak?
My vet told me that she had already reported my ILT test results. I asked whether I should pass along this man's name and phone number, but she declined to take it. I'm not sure why.
EDIT: he's said that he'll alert the other buyers, so that's good at least.

Re: Healthy beak?
As update to this: turns out it wasn't cankers after all, it was ILT. My vet had diagnosed the lesions as canker sores based on appearance, but never actually confirmed it with a test. My Brahma seemed to improve after the medication regime, but then other two started crashing. My black pullet was p...

Re: ILT vaccine?
Or alternatively, are there any hatcheries or breeders around that sell ILT vaccinated birds?
