Re: Red Jungle Fowl
Yes the coloration is exactly the same except the Jungle fowl have slate legs. And the size of course. Mine are about the size of small adult ringneck pheasant right now. The Ild English bantams and OEG standard are close descend the Jungle Fowl. I’ve read some of the hatcheries actually sell Jungle...

Re: Red Jungle Fowl
I had read that they were difficult with regards to being flighty and very shy too. But, mine are actually very tame. They will eat from my hand and I’ve actually had one of the hens fly up onto my back while I was working in their pen. I held her and petted her while she told me something in Chicke...

Re: Red Jungle Fowl
A few months back I posted about my newly acquired Red Jungle Fowl chicks. I thought I would share with y’all what they look like now. The rooster is not in full colour yet but he is still very striking IMO. They have an “Eclipse” colour phase like pheasants and wild ducks where they’re colours aren...

Re: Assisted ANYTHING
In my car ABS is the acronym for “AHHH BULL SH_T!!!!” Because that’s what I’m screaming while I instinctively push that F’n pedal as hard as I can while it vibrates against my foot and the car continues to move towards whatever object I’m trying to avoid hitting! I think ABS brakes are a population ...

Re: Red Jungle Fowl
Thank you. Yes they seem quite thrifty already and appear to be maturing quickly. The guy I got them from said his father just lets them run free from spring to fall. He said they choose to roost in the trees and that the hens disappear and return with broods of chicks throughout the season. I have ...

Re: Red Jungle Fowl
Thank you. I’ve thought about getting them for a couple of years now and just happened to see the ad on Kijiji. I actually traded white Indian runners (which I had a surplus of) for them. I’m very pleased so far!

Re: Red Jungle Fowl
Thank you! I can’t wait until the rooster colours up. I’ve seen the parent stock and they are beautiful!
