HAHA Ross, great pic! LOL

in the reptile world the female is usually twice the size and twice as tough. I had a 21 year old Boa that was pushing 90 lbs and 12' long. her mate was a year younger, only about 45lbs and around 8". she scared the crap out of me once, my mistake cuz there was a rabbit in the room. :-)

The same is true with *some* birds as well--emus and rheas, some shorebirds, also birds of prey--eagles, owls, hawks, crows, ravens, etc.
There are a couple of parrot species where the female is more colourful than the male, but they are the exception to the colour rule lol

I have seen photos of the Vietnam chickens before, I will pass totally freak me out.

The person selling the Argus pheasants also has Peacock pheasants.

Grey peacock pheasants and Temminck's tragopan are on my want list, would like to get 1 of the 2 breeds next year. I would like Montezuma Quail some day as well.

HAHAHAHA Maybe this has something to do with smarts. hiding from predators while the flashy male is being consumed. HAHA evolution at its finest. we're looking at it like she picks the flashiest male cuz hes the strongest and most likely to pass on his genes into the next generation. maybe thats not the case at all and what shes really thinking is, well, he is the brightest flashiest one that really stands out in a crowd, ahhh they'll eat him first. he'll do.

Or maybe from Indonesia a laughing chicken. You have to listen to the video. They have competitions with $1000's of dollars in prizes.
