i will have great fun this weekend. i may or may not enter apparently. LOL. depends on the birds i guess.
and the availability of a neutral background. hm.....and my photography "skills" are completely non-existant. plus, i am NOT bathing a chicken! gah.
is a red slate turkey an accepted turkey for showing? (don't laugh....it's an honest question....i don't know)

I am pretty sure Slate only comes in slate color.
Perhaps he could go as Bourbon red ? I do hope you will be able to put up something, it's going to be pretty boring show if we don't have a decent number of entries.
I was going to ask, how does Troy feel about judging roosters without tails that aren't Auracanas.
I seem to have a whole group of tailless wonders here.

I wasn't going to bother with this project because I certainly don't look at my birds as "show". But may be a good learning experience to get feed back from an expert. Who knows where this hobby may take me in the future and learning to see things more critically could come in handy down the road. I'm excited to see everyone's entries! May work on this and if I don't get too frustrated I will try to send a few pics for the experience of it. Been reading all of your tips so thank-you :)

Well I think I got one picture done, now if I can get the others to co-operate. I think I need to get creative to get them to hold still.

Yes it only comes in Slate according to the latest standard. If I were you I would enter and put under variety red any other colour and leave it to Troy to cut if needed.
I am having difficulty slowing the little buggers down near an object. The only time I can get a pic is when they're not near any of the "objects" in the pen. My only chance was when one nearly knocked himself out trying to fly through a closed window in the coop and he was staggering around!

Is it okay if a non-breeder enters a hen or two?

Two or three of my "relatively" best shots were without the soup can in it, as the photo booth is about two feet wide, there was too much room for the bird to move, after checking the pictures it occurred to me, that had I put one soup can at each end of the booth, I would have doubled my chances. :)Killerbunny wrote:QR_BBPOST

I think we're going to have to have a parallel show of blooper pics after all the antics!
