We used to go down to Newport Vermont and they had postcards with Memphre on it. There were rumours of an underwater river where Mephre lived and he/she travelled between Lake Massawippi and Lake Memphremagog using the river. Also, another rumour was a person caught a 6 foot sturgeon and when he brought it back to his boat it was bitten in half.
