Any more thoughts or info about potential tour? Are they open during the winter even?

So glad the distance makes it impossible to go. Like going to a tack store or a wool shop to just look.....or worse yet a new litter of puppies. LOL

So I just made a phone call. In spring summer its ideal to visit as they have picnic tables and birds are in full colour. He's happy to accomodate a small group now if someone will buy something. 4 or 5 people. Lots of stuff for sale!

Send me a pm and we'll exchange phone numbers. We're booked for Saturday Jan 28 10-11 am arrival. To confirm by phone the day before. We'll rebook in case of real nasty weather : freezing rain, -30 etc.

I think the tour is free. Prices are not cheap. Price listed is per bird. http://www.faisansdescollines.com/Faisan.php

Two pages of stuff for sale. Press "suivant" for page 2.

Ya I saw the snowflakes a bit far away at the moment.

I checked out the pheasant list. I would like a pair of White Crested Kalij, Temminck or Impeyan, but have to see what funds I can scrap together.

I'm with you KB. I want to see what the pens look like. I understand Silvers are very easy to keep. I am looking forward to the noises they make.

I had 3 silver pheasant hens, very tame and easy going, never had a cock but they are very pretty birds. they all ready lived at the old place when we moved in. it took me a long time to figure out what they were since they were only hens. the pen was set up exactly like any other pheasant pen with lots of ceder/pine trees for hiding. they always slept outside even in the worst weather even though there was a 8x12 coop, the run was a covered 10x40. 6-8 pheasants and a pair of white call ducks in it. I loved listening to the call as well, the first time i heard them call i was looking up in the trees trying to figure out what the heck it was.
